Barbara Jean Peckins-Muszynski (BJ)owner
Instructor: Vocal, Piano, Acting and Show Choirs
Ms. BJ is a 1987 graduate of Davison High School (member of Varsity & Chow choir, as well as acting and debate teams.) She attended University of Michigan in the study of Music Education and also attended Oakland University in the study of a BA in Musical Theater, vocal performance. Ms. BJ studied voice privately at New York Broadway Arts. Ms. BJ is married to her loving husband Rob and has a 5 yr old son Carter Michael. Also living in the Muszynski home is pampered poochs “Captain Jack” and “Winston the Pooh” Muszynski. Prior to Opening her studio in 2002 Ms Bj was no stranger to the performing arts world. She began as a young child performing in local community theater productions only to become on of the main soloist for Christmas at Whiting. Later in life she became the Music Director for Christmas at Whiting (1994-1997). Following College Ms. BJ has tested her hand in the performance world touring with 3 professional Broadway tours. Upon finishing her last tour she realize that her hearts main desire was to become a wife and mother and decided to head home and give her education and experience to the younger generation. She became the Head of Performing Arts department at Deborah’s Stage Door Performing Arts Center (Rochester Hills, MI 1997-2002). Teaching 52+ students as well as a competition team and 4 show choirs. In her short life she has directed over 25 musicals and performed in 30+ musical productions. To her credit and joy she has a number of students who now have careers touring with Broadway productions, commercials, LA Careers and are dancing and singing professionally.
Stacy Hurley (office administrator)
You can find Stacy in the office doing bookkeeping, and managing the office. Stacy is a 1992 graduate from Davison High School. She married her high school sweet heart in 1994 and has two children Brooklyn and Kolten. Brooklyn and Kolten are both involved in the Competition team at songbirds. After graduation she attended the University of Michigan-Flint where she studied early childhood development for 4 years. In the past Stacy has worked as a preschool teacher, assistant director at Hill School latchkey, bookkeeper/office manager for both Don Ryan Insurance Agency and The Max of Michigan. Stacy’s outside interests include scrap booking, spending time with her family, watching racing and hockey and redecorating. Stacy hopes to help provide a safe and happy environment to learn in, while keeping the bills straight. Come on in and see her if you have any questions or problems.
Erin Bishop (choreographer)
Erin comes to us from Rochester Hills Michigan with a wealth of experience to offer our students. She has been a dance instructor for 8 yrs (at Deborah’s Stage Door in Rochester Hills.) As well as teaching, Mrs. Erin has danced competitively for over 10 years and has won numerous national dance, choreography and entertainment awards. Mrs. Erin has studied dance in New York, L.A. and Orlando. She won and was aired on ABC’s “Showstoppers Nations Championships” in 1996 and 1998. She also performed in the following : Disney world, Detroit Pistons Half time show, Hob Nobble Gobble (Detroit’s Black tie society benefit) and the Thanksgiving Day Parade to name a few. Erin is consists of her loving husband Karl, baby girl Kiera, baby on the way and has two Puppies/kids names Charllote and Chauncey.
Theresa Raysin (Piano)
Theresa is 1985 graduate of Davison High school (where she was a member of Varsity choir, student council , Drama club, a National Merit scholarship finalist. After high school Theresa Attended The University of Michigan with a double major in cultural anthropology and English lit and added 2yrs to her classical piano training. Ms. Theresa studied 15 years privately under Patricia Miracle. She has Served on the DDA Board (2000-2005), Chamber of Commerce Board (1999-2002), sat on the board of directors for the Fair winds girl scout council and is the current director of the “Miss Davison Scholarship pageant.” Served as a accompanist and soloist for the 1985 European tour Southern Michigan youth Chorale.
Steve Bower (Guitar)
Songbirds is thrilled to welcome Mr. Steve to our team. To say that music is in his blood is a understatement. Mr. Steve has been playing the guitar since he was a young child and has turned the love for music into a promising teaching career. In his early years he played with Greg and Craig Frost from Grand Funk Railroad on a frequent basis. Steve and his loving wife Teresa have been married for 17 yrs and have 3 children James, Joe and Ashley(Nicky) Married 17 years to Teresa. He can also be seen working at Hank Graffs where he has been employed for the past 10 yrs.

April Rowe (Seamstress)
April joins our staff for the second year in a row. Her job is to make our perfromers look wonderful on stage. She is our studio Costume designer. Aside from designing for the studio she is a wife and loving mother of three children, Nick 21, Kellie 17 and Savannah 12. Savannah and Kellie are avtive members of our studios competition team for the last 5 years. April also enjoy reading, eating and shopping, not necessarily in that order. She is looking forward to another fun and successful year at Songbirds!

Kelly Holland
Kelly Holland is a graduate of our apprentice program. If this isn’t your first year at Songbirds, chances are you’ve probably seen her around the studio. She is a fun, outgoing girl who always has a smile on her face. She has been a competition student for four years and has competed on the national level. She has won three platinum awards as a soloist, and has been awarded for outstanding achievement and citizenship. She is 19 year old graduate of Davison High School . Her heart is set on becoming a grade school teacher after college. Besides singing, Kelly enjoys spending time with her family, friends and shopping.

Natalie Town
Natalie is a junior at Dryden High School. This past summer she graduated for our apprentice program. Natalie has been with the studio for 5 years, and competed for 4 years. At competitions she has recieved awards such as first overall for her monolouge in 09, and 3rd place teen solo vocalist at our National competition. Natalie is also involved in our companies such as Songbirds, and Delta Pheta Birds. Natalie is always happy,and ready to make others smile whenever its needed, and is up for any challenge that Ms.BJ hands her. She hopes to go to college in New York and be able to open her own Perfroming Arts Studio one day.
