My daughters have been enrolled with BJ’s Songbirds for going on 6 years now. They enjoy every minute of the singing, dancing and acting, because they are ham’s, but also love the new friends they have made. My youngest daughter is Special Needs and takes Speech and OT/PT at school, and her therapist are very happy with the progress she is making due to the special attention she receives at the studio. Thank you so much for all you have done.

Over the last five years BJ’s Songbirds Performing Arts Studio has contributed in many significant ways towards the fine young lady my daughter has developed into. Not only has the Songbird’s owner, Miss BJ, helped my daughter grow as a singer but BJ along with the entire staff and students work together as a family to face some of life’s hardest challenges – RESPECT for each other, COURAGE to step out of the box, DEDICATION towards practicing weekly and then some, INVOLVEMENT in studio and community activities, CONFIDENCE to perform for local, regional and national competitions and LEADERSHIP through participation in singing lessons, teaching singing, business management and entrepreneurship. All these experiences combined have afforded my daughter the opportunity to learn, grow and be an active member of society.

My name is Kelly Good. You may have never heard of me, but I hope to one day change that. I have always wanted to be a performer, and it is my life long dream to one day work in the Entertainment industry. As a small girl, I took dance and voice lessons. Growing up I had always tried to find opportunities to better myself, to learn more and to develop better performance skills. While a teenager I attended BJ’s Songbirds Center for the Performing Arts. The knowledge that I acquired while at the school was invaluable. I learned everything from Music Theory, to how to work well with others as an ensemble, and I continually improved. I left the studio feeling confident, knowing I had a solid understanding of what was expected of me as a performer. I continued to pursue a performance career as I graduated high school and enrolled in college. My relationship with the center did not end there however, just a few years later while attending the University of Michigan I received the pleasure of becoming a faculty member at the performing arts center. As a teacher I found myself still learning and growing. I was also sharing my passion with others who enjoy these same interests. Upon my graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Performing Arts, I finally felt ready to compete in this career field. I consider myself blessed to have found a close and caring home at BJ’s. Without the knowledge I received at the studio, I do not feel that I would have been prepared to handle such a highly competitive career.
